Background:
Environmental management and conservation is fast becoming the need of the hour, especially if the human race is to survive and lead a healthy and fruitful life. Our present economic activities and lopsided accounting and management techniques are based on financial cost benefits and impacts, and practically ignore environmental issues, inputs, costs, values and perspective which do not have direct financial implications / outflow. This has resulted in the environment being systematically over exploited and is today on the brink of ruination and disaster.
Objective:
It is in immense public interest to develop and create awareness about environmental management, accounting and conduct research in this field, which as on date is a neglected discipline in India, though some work has been done on it both in India and world wide.
